Colouring the ground

The colour for the ground is a mixture of green earth (4/5) with yellow ochre (1/5) and a touch of viridian. The puddle has to cover the surface but it shouldn't be completely opaque, therefore you can also apply it in two layers. When the layer is very dry, you enhance the colour with a light and very transparent puddle containing water, emulsion and a point of burnt Siena.

Note that the density of pigments must be higher around the frame and furniture... to underline them and to show them a bit in "relief".

The down of the feathers

The basic color of the feathers is done applying a transparent puddle of cobalt blue with a touch of titanium white.
