The trunk

The lines are drawn with a mixture of burnt Siena with a touch of black and the colouring puddle of the trunk is done with well diluted burnt Siena. Give movement to the branches by pulling the pigments towards the darkest zones...

The foliage

Make a mixture of viridian with a little bit of red ochre and draw the foliage’s outlines as well as the outline of the leaves’ masses. Colour the surface using the same mixture with a little bit more of yellow ochre for the puddle. Create nuances going from the clearest to the darkest tones, varying the pigment’s density and adding a bit of viridian to the initial mixture.
