The first highlight of the flesh
Before starting this task, it is necessary to imagine the zones having to be highlighted and to study the model carefully.
The colour of the first highlight is a mixture of red ochre (2 parts) and yellow ochre (1 part). The colour must be quite liquid, without too much egg emulsion, to prevent the appearance of aureoles around the highlighted areas.
The puddle must be applied pushing the pigments towards the clearest zones. To create a soft transition between the colour layers, add some water to the mixture when you reach the limits of the puddle. By doing this, the passage between the highlight and the basic sanquir will be imperceptible. Once the colour is applied, do not retouch inside the puddle, that will produce small spots... Let it dry completely..
.
The highlights of the hair can be done by direct painting with a mixture containing a little bit more of red ochre, since the basic colour was much greener and darker.
